About Us
Caregap Health is an independent health information website. We publish plain-language guides on common medical conditions for readers in India and elsewhere, with a focus on the questions people actually ask after a consultation ends.
Why we exist
There is no shortage of health content online. What is scarce is content that is specific enough to be useful, honest about uncertainty, and clear about the point at which a reader needs a doctor rather than an article.
Our aim is to close that gap. We explain what a condition is, what the tests mean, which treatments have evidence behind them, which popular ones do not, and what the warning signs are.
What we cover
- Heart and circulation
- Diabetes and metabolic health
- Bones and joints
- Lungs and breathing
- Digestive health
- Mental wellbeing
- Women’s health
- Skin and hair
How we write
Every article is written to be read by someone without medical training. We avoid jargon where plain words will do, and define it where it is unavoidable.
We describe treatments in terms of what the evidence supports, and we say so plainly when the evidence is weak, mixed or absent. We name popular remedies that do not work, because avoiding wasted money and delayed treatment is as useful as recommending something.
Every article that touches on diagnosis or treatment ends by pointing the reader back to a qualified clinician, because general information cannot account for your own history, medication and test results.
What we are not
We are not a clinic. We do not diagnose, we do not prescribe, and we do not offer personal medical advice by email or in comments. We are not a substitute for a consultation with a doctor who can examine you and read your results.
